Poland, due to the size of its population (38 million), is the largest telecom market in Central Europe. Mobile and ATM top-up have been presented in the market for one and three years respectively, yet total sales volumes remain a minor fraction of the overall market. Scratch card sales are the primary means of prepaid airtime. The POS recharge business provided by Euronet/e-pay focuses on cash payment for prepaid airtime, via POS top-up, online voucher and offline voucher processing methods. The dominant product launched in Poland is POS Off-line E Voucher Recharge. Its value lies in that it maintains existing consumer expectations, has low cost telecommunications requirements and allows to manage merchant risk by easily limiting the amount of sales available.
