e-pay Australia commenced working with Vodafone New Zealand Limited in January 2002 and launched a New Zealand subsidiary, e-pay New Zealand Limited, in March 2003 under a 3 year agreement with Vodafone New Zealand. Vodafone represents approximately 80% of the prepaid mobile market in New Zealand.

e-pay has a first to market advantage for electronic delivery of prepaid mobile airtime in New Zealand and is expanding its product range to include long distance calling cards and bill payment. Prepaid mobile top-up has tremendous opportunity based on current statistics.

• New Zealand mobile phone use has grown from 17% in 1998 to over 65% in 2003 with Vodafone enjoying around 80% of the prepaid mobile market.
• Interestingly, NZ is one of the least densely populated countries in the world with 25% of the country being forest.

e-pay NZ currently provides services to more than 1,000 retail outlets in New Zealand including Vodafone stores, First Mobile, Digital Mobile, Caltex, Dick Smith Electronics, Shell and BP.

e-pay's technology is available to retailers through stand alone terminals.
